Jahangir Emami was born in 1935 in Tehran, Iran. He started to climb local mountains near Tehran at age of 16. Later, he joined Damavand Moutain Club in Tehran.

After he improved his skills as a mountaineer, he claimed many mountains and explored many caves in Iran. He was the main coach for Mountain rescue in Tehran Fire Department.
He now retied in Amsterdam, Netherland
